In the future dystopian society of Cabal, the government instills equality for all and offers its citizens the perfect system. There is food, shelter and jobs for everyone. The one requirement is to follow the rules without question, including the government's match in marriage and "The Day of the Chosen", a lottery that randomly selects families to conceive children as natural means hasn't existed in generations. Following her eighteenth birthday, Olivia Parker accepts her requirement to marry her childhood best friend, Joshua Warren, and is eager to start her work assignment and new life when it all comes abruptly to an end as she's arrested and thrown in prison. The only crime committed, her existence.

Olivia is unlike the rest of the world born not from "The Day of the Chosen." The truth haunts the government and puts her life in grave danger as one simple fact would destroy the perfect system. With Joshua's help, Olivia breaks free of prison and is forced on the run. Together they set out to find the promised rebel town in search of a new home and new life together. Their situation seems less than promising as they reach the town of Haven. New rules and customs must be adhered to in order to stay. Leaving would mean most certain death in the large expanse of the Gravelands. Time is running out as the government mounts an attack to destroy Olivia and bury her secret with her. Thrown into a world unlike their own, they must quickly adapt to survive.

When I first got my e-copy of this book, I never realized how much I would love it! Dystopian's are so popular now, that they have become a dime a dozen. In a overflowing market, you really have to write something special to make a book stand out from the crowd, and Silver has done just that!

As a woman, it is hard to ignore reading about a world that takes away two of our most important pleasures in and having a child. In the future city of Genisis no one ever learns about sex because it is no longer needed. After a drug was introduced to society many years ago, a terrible side effect started showing up in woman. They could no longer bear children. Now, when you come of age, the city picks your husband or wife and gives you a child that was created in a lab.

If you do not accept your spouse, Genisis kicks you out of the city to fend for yourself in the Gravelands where food is sparse and crazies run about. Even though her prospects weren't good, Olivia didn't want to lose the only life she had known and her mother. So, when she was match with her childhood friend, Joshua, she couldn't be happier. Only things quickly take a turn for the worst.

When Genisis finds out Olivia was born by natural means (a fact she didn't even know herself) she is thrown in jail along with her mother. It turns out, her mother has kept many secrets from her. When Joshua helps Olivia escape, they must set out on a journey across the Gravelands where Olivia learns just how much has been hidden from her.

I'm not going to give any more of this book away, so you will have to read it for yourself....but I promise, it's a true page turner! Joshua is the sweetest guy, and you start to think of Olivia and Joshua as one person. I can't think of a stronger team. The best part about their relationship is it didn't happen over a few days, (Am I the only one who gets tired of sappy love at first sight novels?) they have been good friends since childhood. After reading this book, I just had to contact the author and join her blog tour :) Keep reading for my review of the next book!

Title: Moirai
Series: Aberrant 2
Author: Ruth Silver
Genre(s): YA, Romance, Dystopia
Olivia has been on the run from the government of Cabal since the marriage ceremony. Finally settling in and finding herself a place to call home in Shadow, Olivia and Joshua prepare for the uprising that they and the rebel alliance have been planning for months.
With new abilities and special talents from Mindonsiphan, Olivia learns she can do more than most ordinary eighteen year olds. Learning both to hide and perfect her skills will be one of the biggest challenges she’ll be forced to face.
A constant rollercoaster of emotion and adventure await Olivia and Joshua as they embark on a journey to the rebel city of Torv, and what was once home, Genesis.

Olivia and Joshua are finally free to live life on their own terms, they can get married by their own decision, read any books they want (if they can find them), and even go kick some Genesis butt...which is exactly what they have to do if they ever want to stop looking over their shoulder, and show the rest of the world that they have been brain washed this whole time.

No one should be forced to marry or punished for what feels natural to them, so Olivia and Joshua get help from their new friends in Shadow and make a plan to overthrow Genesis. Along the way Olivia runs into some hurtful reminders of her past and all the lies she was told, even if it was for her own safety, the truth always stings.

Ruth Silver has done it again, and I just couldn't put this book down. The Aberrant series has just the right amount of action, romance, danger, and comic relief to keep any reader happy. Their are also some very good lessons to be learned.
